Oriental Persians or Contemporary Nepalese.

Hand knotted rugs are widely considered by rug connoisseur's as the only rug to buy. Given all things equal, ie quality of materials used a hand knotted rug will far outlast a hand tufted or machine woven rug. The weaving techniques used are the oldest in rug making and still used in many parts of the World. A meticulous process where each individual tuft is tied at the base with a knot into a prepared warp thread, then a weft or in some cases more than one is inserted between the warps. Hand woven, hand loomed and hand tufted is not the same as a true hand knotted rug. Our hand knotted rugs are available in both modern, plain and traditional designs, most of our modern designs are programmed with a number of sizes available in the same design, woven using Nepalese weaving technique's where a bar is used to speed up the weaving process. We carry stocks of One of a Kind rugs  from Iran, Pakistan, India and Afghanistan, these pieces are individual and are not available in other sizes although we may be able to source rugs from the same weaving areas on request.
