Shop Rugs by Type.
There are many different manufacturing processes to produce the rugs we use in our homes. The oldest process being traditional hand knotted rugs, produced predominantly in the Middle East and Asia and India, the weaving technique has changed little in centuries. The use of natural materials still prevails in these type of rugs where Wool and cotton are the main types of fibre used. Hand Woven and Hand Tufted rugs are often confused with these rugs but the process can be very different as each tuft is not knotted at the base. Machine woven rugs are the most widely used in the UL today, they offer a wide selection of programmed sizes and continuity of quality and design, be it in high quality Worsted Wool or easy clean polypropylene wiltons.
