Like a fishing net, composed of three distinct layers, creating a subtle volume, the trammel rug filters the sea and catches the eye. Tone on tone, its magnificent colouring emanates from images of large expanses of blue, green or even golden water at sunset. The blacks of the night come to cover the white of the hazy mornings. Its simplicity is restful. Its modern design is timeless. Trammel rugs are machine woven on traditional jacquard looms using 100% polyester yarns to create a 5 mm thick flat woven construction, each rug is hand finished with folded edges and reinforced corners.
Rug Underlay
We recommend the use of Teebaud anti-slip underlay with your rug. This reduces the potential for trip hazards by minimising slippage. It will prevent rucking, makes vacuuming easier, feels better to walk on, provides heat insulation, improves sound dampening, and reduces any possibility of colour transfer from your rug to the floor surface beneath.
See our Teebaud Anti-slip Underlay for more details
General Maintenance
Vacuum regularly, the heavier the traffic the more frequent you should vacuum.
Suction only vacuum cleaners or tool attachments should only be used, vacuums with rotating brushes are not recommended as they can damage the fibres and edges of the rug.
Sprouting or high threads
Long threads, may appear above the surface of the rug, these can be trimmed to the surrounding height with a sharp pair of scissors without any detriment to the appearance or wear ability of the rug in anyway whatsoever.
Stains and Spillage
It is important to deal with any spills quickly. If in doubt about how to treat a stain do not attempt to clean and let the stain dry. Use a professional cleaning company or visit James.eu for suitable cleaning products for all Louis de Poortere rugs. For fresh stains, moisten a clean cotton pad or white towel with cold water, wring it out and place on the stain. Leave in place until completely dry. Do not rub or dab the rug at this stage, as this may cause permanent damage to the surface. Never use soap. For persistent or dry stains, treat as per instructions on James.eu
