Distressed designs with origins from the master weavers of the Orient.

The Antiquarian Rug collection features three distinctive Oriental designs selected from the extensive Louis de Poortere archive. Antique Heriz sees a large central medallion, rosette shaped with a stair patterned perimeter. Palmettes in which the shape of a turtle seems to be suggested. Boughs, leaved twigs, stalks and flowers, a Heriz, distressed by age and with its origin in Azeri Persia. The Antique Bakhtiari rug shows a floral diamond pattern in feather shaped frames. The design was retrieved from the "Muskabad archives" of Louis De Poortere and given the "distressed treatment". The legendary Antique Hadschlu Rug from Louis De Poortere is re-edited in its flat weave, distressed version. Sometimes called "The Notary Rug", our Hadschlu has the particularity that it blends into a classic notary study, as elegantly as in a slee, minimalist yuppie interior. Woven on jacquard Wilton looms with cotton chenille yarns, each beautiful rug has multiple layers of texture, distressed areas and intricate stitching detail to give a true ‘vintage’ look.
