Antiquarian Bakhtiari rugs are machine woven on jacquard Wilton looms by Louis de Poortere using high quality cotton chenille yarns. Over a century of skill and craftsmanship is woven into each rug with multiple layers of texture, distressed areas and intricate stitching detail to give a true vintage and aged appearance. Woven in a 3 mm thick flat weave construction, each piece is hand finished with reinforced corners. A new addition to the Antiquarian rug collection featuring a classic floral diamond pattern in feather shaped frames. A traditional Persian design woven by the Bakhtiari people for centuries, the Bakhtiari live in the mountainous part of Khuzistan and Isfahan provinces in Iran. The design was retrieved from the "Muskabad archives" of Louis de Poortere and given the "distressed treatment".
